M. Glorioso receives first CEO Roundtable Leadership
Award
Boston/Andover /Stow - June 3,
2005 - Dr. Robert M. Glorioso was honored with CEO
Roundtable's first "Leadership Award" on June 3,
2005.
Dr. Jack Gill, Cofounder of Vanguard Ventures,
presented the award, following his presentation to
the group on "Intelligence, Leadership and
Entrepreneurship."
Loren G. Carlson, Chairman of CEO Roundtable, told
the 50 CEO members present, "This Leadership Award
is given in recognition of Bob's exemplification of
the power of peer groups to help members increase
the value of their companies and enrich the quality
of their lives."
Dr. Glorioso's distinguished career includes 16
years at Digital Equipment Corporation from 1976 to
1992 where he managed several groups including
corporate research, large computers, the information
systems business and management consulting.
In 1992, Dr. Glorioso co-founded Marathon
Technologies Corporation, producers of leading
products in fault and disaster tolerance for
Microsoft/Intel based systems. He grew the company
to $15 million in revenue and served as CEO,
president and chairman until 2002.
Recently, Dr. Glorioso retired as Chairman of
Turbine Entertainment Software after guiding the
premier development studio of on-line massive
multi-player role-playing games successfully through
its critical growth stage.
He is currently the managing director of Tower Stone
Group, a business consultancy, and is president and
co-founder of Lava Plume Software, LLC, the software
developers of the Personal Data Librarian. He is
also president and co-founder of QC Avionix, LLC,
the manufacturer and marketer of cockpit accessories
and test equipment for pilots and maintenance shops.
The author or co-author of four books, five patents,
and two pending patents as well as several papers,
Dr. Glorioso is a Fellow of the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a Member of
the American Solar Energy Society. Last month, he
was inducted into the University of Connecticut
School of Engineering, Academy of Engineers, Hall of
Fame.
A licensed commercial pilot, he is on the advisory
board of Stow Minuteman Airfield. Dr. Glorioso and
his wife, Dee, live in Stow, Massachusetts. |
