CEO ROUNDTABLE ENJOYS ROYAL TREATMENT IN BERKSHIRES
Lenox/Stockbridge, Mass
- CEO Roundtable, LLC, members continued the momentum and spirit of the
successful March retreat based on Shakespeare's Hamlet with Tina
Packer, founder and president of Shakespeare & Company, by
venturing out to the Berkshires with friends and families to see the
actual production of the play, featuring Tina, her son Jason Asprey,
who starred as Hamlet; and her husband who played Polonius. |

The
August weekend of relaxed elegance and culture began on Saturday in
Lenox at Shakespeare & Company with a special presentation by Tina
on how the characters were developed for this particular production,
the changing values the play represents and that there really are no
right answers to the play's many dilemmas. Hamlet marks the first play
to delve deeply into the characters' psychology.
As this exclusive time with Tina came to an end, she shared with the group her vision to build a replica of The Rose Theatre.

Loren Carlson, CEO Roundtable chairman, made a commitment to hold a
CEO Roundtable summit at The Rose in ten years, enlisting the help of
the members to support this worthwhile project. Part of Tina's
vision is to bring great thinkers from all disciplines to learn about,
speak about and study important topics of our day - to bring rhetoric
to the great issues and great discussions.

A beautiful buffet dinner was served under the tent and the players presented an introductory spoof and farce on the play - very Shakespearean, very bawdy!
The CEOs said the actual production was one of the finest they had ever seen.

Following the performance, the group had an opportunity to meet with the actors at the bar before the evening came to a close.
The weekend continued on Sunday at Tanglewood with a tour of the grounds...

an
elegantly exquisite brunch and a talk by Tanglewood's artistic
administrator, Anthony Fogg, on how the Boston Symphony Orchestra's
season is planned.
At 2:30, the group took to their lawn
chairs with fresh fruit, cookies, brownies and beverages as they basked
in the symphonic harmonies of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, magnificent
for current and future CEOs.

The weekend was so enriching that the group has asked Loren to make the summer retreat an annual event.
